ABSTRACT FORMAT REQUIREMENTS
Structure
Abstracts must be organised into four clear sections:

Aim(s) of study

Method(s) and subjects used

Results obtained (Note: "The results will be discussed" is not acceptable)

Discussion and Conclusion
Technical Requirements

Abstract title should not exceed 20 words.
-
Maximum length of Abstract: 2000 characters (excluding title, authors and affiliations)
-
Language: English
-
No tables, graphs or images are permitted.
-
Use numerals for numbers except at the beginning of sentence.
-
Write acronyms/abbreviations in full at first use.
-
Standard abbreviations are acceptable; place special / unusual abbreviations in brackets after first use.
Submission Guidelines
-
Deadline: 14 November 2025 (Fri)
-
Submitted abstracts must be original.
-
Topic must be relevant to Primary Care or Family Medicine. Authors listed must have made substantial contributions to the work, participated in drafting and revising the abstract and approved the final version of the submission.

The abstract submission will require the names of authors, co-authors and their affiliated institutions, and must be filled accurately. Ensure no spelling, grammatical or scientific errors.

Abstracts will be published exactly as submitted without proofreading.
-
Previously presented abstracts at another international scientific meeting may be submitted.
-
Published journal papers will not be accepted, but published abstracts may be considered.

Review Process
-
Each abstract will undergo anonymous review by at least two reviewers.
-
Main author will receive notification by 8 February 2026 via email.
-
Presenting authors must complete their conference registration by 28 February 2026.
-
Authors must ensure their email address is current and can receive communications from SPCC Conference Secretariat.

Abstract Withdrawal
-
Submit withdrawal requests via email to the SPCC Conference Secretariat Team by 8 February 2026.
-
Please include reasons for withdrawal in the email.

Accepted Abstracts
-
All accepted abstracts will be:
-
Published in the Conference Abstract electronic-Booklet
-
All oral presenters to prepare an oral presentation (12 selected).
-
All abstracts not selected for oral presentation will need to prepare an electronic Poster which will be made available for viewing during the conference by 29 March 2026.
-

The authors of the top 12 abstracts will be invited to present at the Oral presentation competition, while the authors of the next 24 abstracts will be invited to present at the Poster competition during the conference.
-
Authors will need to use the template conference Powerpoint slides to prepare their Oral presentation and/or template conference electronic Poster for their Poster presentation.
-
All presenting Authors of accepted poster Oral and Poster and oral presentations will receive a certificate of oral/ poster presentation and are eligible to vie for the Conference awards. You will only qualify for the awards if you or any of your co-authors register for and present at the conference. No award will be presented in abstention.
GUIDELINES FOR POSTER PRESENTATION

All posters must be in English.
-
All posters must be in A0 size (84.1cm × 118.9cm or 33.1" x 46.8") and in portrait format.
-
The poster should include the following:

Introduction/rationale for conduct of study
-
Methodology
-
Results (Tables and figures should be concise and appropriately labelled)
-
Discussion and conclusion
-
Potential for translation to clinical practice, if relevant
-
Acknowledgement and declaration of sponsorship, if relevant
-
References are optional: restrict to only key references
-

Ensure appropriate font size such that the audience is able to read the poster content from a distance of up to 1m.
-
Consider the provision of A4 handouts containing essential elements of your poster content to the audience. It should contain your contact details for further deliberation of your study and for mutual interaction and networking to promote Family Medicine and Primary Care research.

Shortlisted poster presentations will be judged and compete for the Conference Awards.
-
You will be required to stand-by your poster to respond to queries by a panel of appointed jurors.
-
You will be notified of the timing of the Poster presentation after successful acceptance of your abstract and completion of your conference registration.

GUIDELINES FOR ORAL PRESENTATION

All Oral presentations must be in English.
-
The oral presentation should include the following:

Introduction/Aim

Methodology
-
Results (Tables and figures should be concise and appropriately labelled)

Discussion in relation to its translational potential in primary care and family practices
-
Summary of key findings in the conclusion
-
Acknowledgement and declaration of sponsorship, if relevant
-
References are optional: restrict to only key references
-

Timing for each oral presentation
-
Introduction of presenter and presentation by session chairperson (1 minute)
-
Presentation (6 minutes)
-
Question and answers (2 minutes)
-

If you exceed the permitted timing, the session chairperson will be obliged to terminate the presentation.
-
All oral presentations will be judged and eligible to compete for the Conference Awards.
-
You will be notified of the timing of your oral presentation after successful acceptance of your abstract and completion of your conference registration.
-
Decision by the panel of jurors on the awards will be final.
-
Please consider uploading your presentation early, preferably one day before your scheduled time for presentation.
-
Identify yourself to the session chairperson 10 minutes before your presentation.
-
Each session comprises 6 oral presentations, which will last for 60 minutes.
-
The session chairperson will be responsible for the scheduling of the presentations, which may be altered in the event of exigency, such as unexpected withdrawal of presenters.
