Director, Quality Management,
SingHealth Polyclinics

Dr Chow Mun Hong

Dr Chow is Director of Quality Management at SingHealth Polyclinics, where he started the Quality Management Department and has been overseeing Quality and Safety for more than 20 years. His areas of responsibility include Clinical Governance, Quality Assurance, Patient Safety, Patient Experience, Value Driven Care, Quality Improvement, and Learning in Quality and Safety. He is also the Chief Risk Officer of SingHealth Polyclinics where he oversees the Enterprise Risk Management Programme.

From 2011 to 2017, Dr Chow Mun Hong was Director of Clinical Governance and Quality Management, and then Innovation and Quality Management at SingHealth. He focused on strengthening the Quality Management system, building capability and capacity for Innovation and Improvement, and supporting efforts to improve care delivery.

Currently, Dr Chow contributes to National efforts to improve patient care as a member of the MOH Ensure Safer Systems Working Committee, and also supports improvement in Primary Care as part of the MOH Primary Care Network Quality Improvement Committee.

Dr Chow is a Family Physician by training and is Senior Consultant at SingHealth Polyclinics. He graduated in 1990 with MBBS, attained his MMed (Family Medicine) in 1998, FCFP(S) in 2002, and MBA in 2013. He also completed a fellowship in Integrated Chronic Disease Management at Kaiser Permanente in 2004. Dr Chow also obtained his MBA in 2013 and FAMS in 2015.

His interests are in Continual Improvement, Healthcare Quality and Safety, and Care Delivery Design to support Value and Population Care.

He is also active in medical and inter-professional education for many years, is Adjunct Assistant Professor with Duke-NUS Medical School, MMed (Family Medicine) trainer and examiner, and GDFM examiner. He is also involved in Quality and Safety training for Residents and other healthcare professionals.
