Clin Asst Prof Gary Kang is a Director in the Clinical Services Department at SingHealth Polyclinics. He obtained his medical degrees from National University of Singapore and his MBA from Nanyang Business School. He is a Fellow of both the Academy of Medicine Singapore and the College of Family Physicians Singapore. As a family medicine specialist who manages complex medical issues, he continues to impart his medical knowledge and experience by teaching undergraduates from the 3 medical schools in Singapore. He is a strong advocate for innovation, AI and med tech in healthcare. Through his leadership, telemedicine and remote care capabilities were scaled up in polyclinics, a committee was set up to incubate and develop new innovative ideas, and more AI tools were being evaluated and implemented. Having been involved in several tech-enabled research and implementation projects at various stages, he supports ascertaining value for the limited resources in public healthcare so that primary care can be sustainable in the long term.
