Dr Emina Obarcanin
Dr. Emina Obarcanin, PharmD, PhD, is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Primary Care and Family Medicine at LKCMedicine. Dr. Obarcanin studied pharmacy at Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf in Germany, obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida, USA, and her PhD in Germany. With extensive clinical expertise in diabetes and chronic disease management, and digital health, Dr. Obarcanin has spent over 14 years working in academia at Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf, National University Singapore, and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, where she successfully led the digital m-Health education of the CADENCE App (Cardiovascular National Disease Enterprise).
Throughout her career, Dr. Obarcanin has led and co-led international clinical studies and projects focused on diabetes and other chronic diseases, including the EU Horizon Projects. Her research primarily focuses on multidisciplinary care and the integration of digital health tools and devices to optimize the delivery of care for diabetes. Driven by a passion for helping others and her deep love for patient care, Dr. Obarcanin has worked with many individuals with diabetes, optimizing their medication therapy and supporting them in making sustainable lifestyle changes. She is accredited Lifestyle Medicine specialist integrating lifestyle medicine into chronic disease management.
