Dr Jimmy Lim is a consultant cardiologist at the Novena Heart Center, Singapore. He did his undergraduate training in the United Kingdom and subsequently returned to Singapore for his further specialist training. His post-graduate training later took him to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, USA where he did further training in interventional cardiology, preventative cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation.

During his time at Johns Hopkins, Dr Lim spent time at the Ciccarone Preventative Cardiology Center in Baltimore. At the preventative center, persons who are at high risk of developing future heart disease are assessed and prescribed intensive lifestyle management and in some instance medications for the the purpose of prevention.

Dr Lim also spent time at the Johns Hopkins, Cardiac Centre in the cardiac catheterization laboratory training in coronary angiography and angioplasty (using balloons and stents to open up closed heart arteries).
