Leo TingYuan is a Registered Mental Health Nurse at the Institute of Mental Health and serves as Chairperson of the Psychiatric Nurses’ Chapter, Singapore Nursing Association (SNA). He is passionate about continuous learning and completed his Mindfulness Teacher Training (MTT) in 2022. As a Nurse Clinician and Certified Mindfulness Teacher, he was appointed in 2022 to establish a Psychiatric Short Stay Unit (SSU). Drawing on his mindfulness training, Leo integrated mindfulness informed approaches into the leadership and management of this newly established ward. He leads a team of nursing staff in a high demand psychiatric environment characterised by rapid admissions, crisis stabilisation, and frequent discharges.
