Shiva Sarraf-Yazdi is Vice Dean of Education at Duke-NUS Medical School and Co-Director of Academic Medicine Education Institute at SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre. She joined the school as a faculty member in 2007 and before her current role, served as Assistant Dean for Admissions, and Associate Dean for Educational Strategies and Programme Development, and held a joint appointment at the Department of Surgical Oncology, National Cancer Centre. During her time at Duke-NUS, she has led several curricular reforms and educational innovations.

Shiva completed her secondary education in Iran, and her undergraduate and medical degrees, general surgery residency, surgery research fellowship and fellowship in surgical critical care – all at Duke University. She later obtained a Master of Education in Health Professions from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore.
