Abstract

Primary care in the United States and Singapore face similar, ongoing, systemic challenges – including hyper-aging populations, runaway healthcare expenditures, and spiraling workforce shortages – leading many to question its long-term sustainability. Can new care delivery models and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence fix the forever crisis of primary care? In this plenary, Dr. Steven Lin will discuss lessons learned from over a decade of innovation at Stanford University, building a primary care system that is resilient and futureproof. Topics include experimental non-panel-carrying primary care models that support large complex health systems, next-generation primary care powered by artificial intelligence and asynchronous care, and reimagined reimbursement models that adapt to present and future challenges.
