Abstract

Flourishing is a state of personal and professional vitality in which individuals experience wellbeing, purpose, positive relationships, and meaningful contribution, alongside the skills and support to navigate challenges with resilience. Work as healthcare professionals is rewarding but demanding, often leading to stress, fatigue, reduced empathy, and emotional burnout.

This symposium shifts the focus from coping to flourishing—supporting clinicians and educators to sustain personal wellbeing and self-care, collaborate effectively, and deliver kind, high quality care. We will explore accessible mindful awareness, compassion and resilience skills that fit busy schedules. We will discuss and demonstrate evidence-based approaches and practices that health professionals can use to feel grounded, stay connected with colleagues and patients, and enrich themselves to enhance their work in caring for people.
