Abstract

Medication non-adherence commonly leads to undesirable clinical, economic and environmental consequences. Practical tools such as the ROARS framework (Reduce – Optimise – Assist – Reinforce – Sustain) can improve adherence and promote sustainable medication use. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the ROARS framework and learn how to apply this in primary care through case-based small group discussion. Sharing of valuable strategies will also empower participants to design and implement patient-centred interventions relevant to their own practice.

Workshop Objectives

To introduce participants to the ROARS framework (Reduce – Optimise – Assist – Reinforce – Sustain) as a practical tool to improve medication adherence while considering ecological and economic impacts.

Workshop Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop:

  • Participants will be able to apply the ROARS framework to design patient-centred interventions that improve adherence and support sustainability in primary care practice.
